olderntwiser Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Hello everyone this is my first post on this site. I have however been lurking in the shadows and have read many off your posts, in fact they got me through a really tough time last month when I was told, out of the blue, "things have been going south for the last couple of months". Beat me with a bat but I thought things were fine! He wanted to be friends. I don't think so. This relationship was only one year but I had sworn off dating for the last 5 years and this guy seemed like the one. Well to try to make a long tale of woe a little shorter, reading in this forum has brought me through some dark days and I want to thank all of you! The problem that I am running into now is how to I get my life back? The happy one I had before all this awful pain. I am a artist and a crafts person and I feel so numb and uninspired. I have tons of half finished projects that I can't complete and I can't even think of starting a new one! Any suggestions? Its bad enough they take your future. Wish I could just get my past back!
Gdunkman Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 I was dumped almost three months ago, so I know what you are talking about. It will be easier in time. You don't have to worry about your inability to work and lack of inspiration. I had that too, still have, but feeling a bit better every day. I read a smart book about coping, and it says it's a normal reaction. You are healing and it takes a lot of your energy, that's why you have to accept that during this period you will not be able to work as much as you used to, you can be passive, inattentive, uninspired and sleepy and you shouldn't worry, because it's normal. Your mood will get better as time passes. At least that's what I'm experiencing myself.
