Recently, I read a short piece of writing about cheating from silic0ntoad. It inspired me to write a poem about how I am feeling.

I found working on the piece liberating and positive for me. If something is on your mind you may consider putting a creative piece of writing together for yourself.

The poem is titled Where I Live

I live in a world where the sun is set

My eyes are closed and on the walls dance a silhouette

In a home where everything is mine and nothing is real

I build towers to protect my heart with carbon steel

The distant dawn may come so I must outlast the night

I may not be strong enough but I tell myself everything will be alright

From this slumber I wish to arise anew

But I do not know why I feel the way I do

Given in an unknown pact my mind is not my own

But how can that be when I feel all alone?

No, no, no! these words must be a lie

Can’t you see all these shadows nearby?

Much time has passed inside this loony bin

Outside would I even know how to fit in?

What will I do if I make it through this illusionary eclipse?

The taste of salt is never far from my lips

I search endlessly here in this vast ocean

If only the tide would deliver me some magic potion

Glimpses of life I nostalgically remember of

A time and season when hope filled me with love

I live in a world where I hope to discover

With eyes open, a place as sweet and free as a perfect lover
