fabio10 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 I've been pondering the last few days about the women that have come and gone in my life, most of them share similar traits; Confident Good Looking Independant Moody Out Going But my most recent EX (the love of my life to date) does not really share much in common with the other ladies that have been in my life; Average looking (not in my eyes tho) Intelligent Private VERY MOODY Tom boy I find it weird that she is so differant to all the other ladies I have ever spent any amount of time with, also our relationship evolved out of being best friends for 4years prior to it happening. What I'm wondering is do our EX's reflect who we are as a person, obivously I have things and traits in common with these ladies I have been with, so am I the same as my EX's ? I know we cannot control who are EX's become but do they reflect and influence who we are or may become?
Billie The Puppet Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 I've been pondering the last few days about the women that have come and gone in my life, most of them share similar traits; Confident Good Looking Independant Moody Out Going But my most recent EX (the love of my life to date) does not really share much in common with the other ladies that have been in my life; Average looking (not in my eyes tho) Intelligent Private VERY MOODY Tom boy I find it weird that she is so differant to all the other ladies I have ever spent any amount of time with, also our relationship evolved out of being best friends for 4years prior to it happening. I know we cannot control who are EX's become but do they reflect and influence who we are or may become? This is so weird, almost the exact same story with me yet again. However when my most recent ex (love of my life too) and I first got together, being the truthful guy I am I told her I am taking a chance on her because she is not my type. That chance I took was the best thing I ever did although it may have effected her self esteem or what not because I told her she was not my usual type. I don't regret taking that chance, I regret forcing her to leave as I feel it is I that ended up causing her to break up with me. I'm grateful for the nearly 3 years we had but I wanted life with her. It's funny as I believed she was average looking at first, now that I have lost her I can't help but notice how beautiful she is. I believe I see her inner beauty shine through in pictures. I really wish I could set back time and I'd just relive the best moments over and over again. Your trait lists are almost bang on with mine. Except tomboy is not on my current ex's list she isn't girly girl either

I know we cannot control who are EX's become but do they reflect and influence who we are or may become? Not at once. I think they do when they eventually come to a situation in life that forces them to think. Eventually everyone comes to a certain stage at life when they question who they are and why they do as they do. There is a three strike theory about relationships; that everyone needs have three real relationships (it could be with the same person, but three stages/crisis). First is to blame your SO. Second is to start questioning why you're going through a B.U again. This is to start looking at yourself. It's like divorces. People rarely go through a third divorce, since the second one forces them to start questioning if it's them or the S.O that caused it.
