What do you all think? Good idea or too much?

Background: Met a girl on Match and we had what seems like a really good 4-hour first date last night. I am thinking of what to do with her next weekend, and as we both like hiking, the idea of going to a place nearby as an idea I am toying with.

Thing is, not sure if that is a bit intimidating for a second date. It is a 20-minute drive from picking her up to the trail. I'm wondering if saving it for the third is a better idea...

You want to spend the first few dates doing things that will allow for good conversation. I wouldn't want to go hiking on a second date. I'd like to be somewhere quiet where we can talk and continue to guage whether there's a possible connection.

Just for safety reasons, I would go hiking alone with a guy I'd just met. I think that's a little early on the second date.

Too early for a second date. Maybe in a couple of months? Agree with the safety concerns.

Yes hiking seems a bit intense for a second date.

You should try Dave & Busters, I just inquired about it in one of my threads, and it seems a lot of people have gone there for the first few dates and seemed to have a nice time.

I think hiking is an excellent date idea, however many of my friends do Match, and also are into hiking, and would never go hiking with a guy they met on Match and are only meeting for the second time, unless they were going in a very large group of her own friends. This issue has actually come up for them before.
