BlackLovely Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 I'm married everyone! Here in the splendor of a gorgeous Canadian autumn, the trees are the color of roses and pumpkins. I woke up yesterday and took a picture of the mist rising off of the lake. I was so giddy that I woke up at four AM. I'm a geek, I know. My sweet husband booked a hot stone massage for me, which was excellent. Life is truly what happens when you make other plans; some things did not go well. My friends were very late and so I had to be dressed and styled by utter strangers. I wanted to have a girls hour before the wedding, complete with pictures, snacks and music. Even though I was very sad about not being able to do this, the ceremony was beautiful. Also, the women that helped me get ready were very understanding and maternal, I feel strengthed by their stories of long marriages and compliments. After forecasted rain, I was blessed with sunshine during my vows. We had lovely music playing and the lake as a backdrop. I looked into my husband's blue eyes and saw them fill up with tears of joy. My best girlfriends wept happily and told me later that I was glowing during our ceremony. The pictures will be beautiful because of all the foliage and the passionate kisses. My veil kept falling off and we were all freezing, but it was so hilarious and wonderful. My husband and I stepped on a dock for more pics and I saw a rainbow! What a good sign; I believe that my dead favorite aunt sent me some good weather. That may sound silly to some people on LS, but I am very spritual.... one of my friends died of AIDS a few years ago and I'll never forget one of the last things he said to me: "Wherever I end up after I'm gone, I will not miss your wedding for the world. Not even death can stop me from being there with you." *wipes a tear* Thank you, Adrian. After a leisurely dinner of gourmet food, we all went to our suite, which is delightfully opulent and spacious. We toasted our wedding and my husband made a speech. Hubby and I fed each other vanilla and chocolate cupcakes; what I called "interracial wedding desserts":D I impishly shoved the cupcake in his face. After that, our little intimate party got a little wild, complete with broken glasses, spilled drinks and a very drunk newlywed couple. What can I say, we had a little too much fun. The mood was so positive and loving. The three of us girlfriends hugged and cried on the private balcony. These two women are like my sisters; we even refer to each other that way. It was such treat to have them there, even though the traffic caused a hiccup in my plans. This wedding was much better than I thought it would be. It made me realize that I was only craving a big wedding before, because it was pushed on me. I will forever cherish the memories, long after I am an old, old woman. The fall colors were fiery, just like our romance. I feel relieved and calm, now that the wait is over. Until Wednesday, my new husband and I will frolic in the king size bed, ride horses and dip in the hot tub as much as we can. I now understand why people say that they need a vacation. Who wouldn't benefit from delicious laziness, along with peace and quiet? The food here is to die for; I am enjoying the interesting new dishes. When I look at my husband and his wide masculine ring, I feel very blessed and ecstatic. This is the great love of my life, the man that has been the most faithful, caring and tender to me, even when I am not so easy to get along with. I am going to use the love in my heart to keep him warm forever. I will post pictures for all of you when I get them. I'm going to go back to my husband now and kiss him some more.

Kamille Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 What a wonderful wedding you had! Cheers to the happy couple. ps: I might steal many of the ideas from your wedding, down to the small crowd, the inter-racial cupcakes and the view of the Lakes, if ever BF and I get to that stage of our relationship.
