outearns the husband by over 2/3rds last, or do those kind of relationships last so rarly, that a divorce after children enter the picture is almost a given?

I second this.

 

I know 5 couples were the woman makes more money than the man, and some of them have been married for 10-20 years.

He has to be mature and she has to be also. If you have a woman who has a complex about the man being an alpha provider and is unable to be attracted to a man she outearns then it won't work.
