Sonolumino Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 My ex has been dating this guy for a month now, tells everybody about it. We live in a small town so word gets around. I saw today on fb (yes I'm gradually weaning myself off of it) that she made it official with him. I was hurt, but wasn't surprised or angry. Sort of a weird feeling. Indifference mostly. I mean seeing your ex of only 2 months being in a relationship again isn't going to feel good, but I think this was proof that I am getting better. What do you all think? Is it straight denial or am I moving on?

Is it straight denial or am I moving on? You're a stronger person than me! I'd prob end up hitting the bottle if I heard my ex was dating someone new, but you seem to handling it well. Good for you!! The indifference may be you coming to accept the way things are, and moving on. This is a really good thing. Just make sure you don't keep checking up on her Facebook. I swear that site is the devil. I took my ex from it as soon as she broke up from me, because I was afraid of the very thing that you've just posted. I'm still afraid of it, tbh, but if I can get to where you are, indifferent about her romantic life, then I'll know I'm doing well. I'm glad to hear you're doing good, I think this is you beginning to move on!
Username37 Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 You're getting there! My ex is with someone else now too. And it bugs the **** out of me even though it's not facebook official haha
redmelon Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 I'm not sure that one can be "indifferent mostly" but I do congratulate you on what is surely progress.
Author Sonolumino Posted September 28, 2010 Author Posted September 28, 2010 That's true, I guess what I mean is it doesn't bug me as much as I thought it would. I looked at it 3 more times during the day to make sure I wasn't going to get a reaction from it, and still nothing. She's living her life, I'm going live mine. There are too many girls out there who will treat a person the right way, who have goals in life, who have the capacity to understand me, to be hung up on someone as pitiful as her. Once the love blinders are off you can see it for how it truly is.
