irc333 Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Okay, let's make a list of cliche's and unoriginal content in profiles....typically quotes and phrases not thought up by the profile owner. "The Marilyn Monroe Quote" we talked about earlier. "If you like Pina Colotas!......" (Sometimes I try to be witty, and try to continue the song lyrics to a woman who has this, with no success....I guess they aren't tickled by me following up with the lyrics, lol) The EVER so popular, "Dance like no one is watching, Sing like no one is listening, etc, e,tc etc" Care to add any more?
shadowplay Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 I'm a pretty laid back/easy going kind of guy.
Author irc333 Posted September 24, 2010 Author Posted September 24, 2010 I'm a pretty laid back/easy going kind of guy. Or how about where they say, "I am comfortable in an evening gown/little black dress or I can just thrown on a torn jean and T-shirt" or "I don't like to sweat the small stuff"
SilentVoice Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 " I can show you a good time"... so can everyone else.
reservoirdog1 Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 "I'm down to earth." WTF does this mean, anyway? "I like to have fun." Good to find that out from the start, considering I prefer to stick to a strict no-fun regimen.
Author irc333 Posted September 24, 2010 Author Posted September 24, 2010 "I'm down to earth." WTF does this mean, anyway? "I like to have fun." Good to find that out from the start, considering I prefer to stick to a strict no-fun regimen. I like "new adventures" Even better, "I love to laugh!"
bobdole Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 "I'm down to earth." That's the one I hate most. A short second is "I want someone REAL" I see either of those in a profile and I immediately hit back on my browser. She could look perfect and it wouldn't matter to me - immediate reject
tigressA Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 "No drama" or some variation on that.
Westy Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 "I'm looking for prince charming!" Then read cindarella or snow white, whichever lame story he was in....pass.
Author irc333 Posted September 25, 2010 Author Posted September 25, 2010 How about "If you're a jerk or a wierdo, please do NOT email me!" As if this would stop a wierdo or jerk from actually emailng her. LOL 1
TigerCub Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 The one I hate the most "I work hard and I play hard" - yeah using that line, you'll be playing hard - with no one but yourself - forever!!!
tigressA Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 The one I hate the most "I work hard and I play hard" - yeah using that line, you'll be playing hard - with no one but yourself - forever!!! NICE! :lmao::lmao: ---
sanskrit Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 "Tired of the bar scene." "Make me laugh." "I want a man who is comfortable in his own skin." "I've had my fun and am ready to settle down." "I have it all and I want it all in a man." "Friends first."
TigerCub Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 "I have it all and I want it all in a man." "Friends first." Really? People actually use these? I've read the others before, but wow...just when you think you've seen it all!!
AverageJoe Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Weight: "Average" [quote=sanskrit;3014103 "I've had my fun." Love this one, see my thread from a few weeks back. I expand on that one quite extensively.
sanskrit Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 "Friends first" is extremely common, "Have it all...want it all" less so.
Confusedalways Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Ugh I hateee 'loves to laugh.' I also hate anyone who proclaims they don't want drama.. duh! And I dislike people who call themselves "random lol"
a_woman Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 'I'm a positive person' - I know when someone puts that he is probably clinically depressed.
Author irc333 Posted September 25, 2010 Author Posted September 25, 2010 this is popular with single women on these sites. "I know what I want and I WON'T SETTLE!"
lilbunny Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 Lord have mercy people really say these things! I know I was asking for advice on the online dating scene but even I know not to include these clangers! I am going to look out for some of these. I think my favourite is I want someone real- what else are you going to want a cardboard cut out???
