shayan Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 I guess what we often fail to realize after a fall-out is the oppurtunity for growth which I completely understand due to the pain. However, in this realization lies the light. I feel that after a break up we become very impressionable and open to new ideas because our old paradigm has fallen to pieces. So I ask you why not use this period of openess to fill your mind with empowering new ideas and occupy your body with fulfilling activites. I promise you by focusing on new things alongside your mourning you will heal much more effectively. So here are some of the things I did after I was shattered that you could try. I began to meditate, visualize, excercise more, tried new activities, joined new clubs at school, learned piano, improved my guitar, took voice lessons, began using positive affirmations, read self help books I recommend Wayne Dyer: sacred self. I journaled about my sadness, I wrote strange things, I talked to so-so many people about there own break ups, reached out to new people, made a couple of friends. People here is your chance to grow, when shattered to pieces we have the oppurtunity to reconstruct ourselves, however we see fit. So far all of you hurting, crying, restless, damaged, jealous, vengeful, obsessed, anxious, come back to yourselves this is what a break up tells us to do. It calls us back to ourselves that is all. Good luck, and be patient with yourselves during this time I understand it is easy to move on rationally, however our hearts tend to take much longer (I like to think because of their immense strength). Please use this space to recommend your own techniques our to just tell your story and what you are doing personally to grow.
LoveTNT Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Good advice, reach out. I went hiking yesterday, it was so beautiful.
charliecharlie Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Beautiful story and so true! Remember the Alanis Morisette song: you live, you learn, you love, you learn, etc. But.. sometimes you're so done with all the learning you just want to stay happy for the rest of your life and once again that little creature called heartbreak comes around again saying "here's another lesson girl". Or was it the same old lesson I should have learned from the beginning, but was too stubborn to learn? So learn, open your eyes, start to feel alive again and when you do, stop thinking about the past. Be couragious, smile and live your life with a stronger heart and more knowledge. Move on and have faith that you're heart will open again.. Not just for one person, but for life in general.. Life moves in mysterious ways, and be thankfull for the lessons you get, they were granted to you because you are strong enough to handle them!
NewlyBroken Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Good one Shayan; enjoyed this post. Been running like a Madman, it's been helping a lot; Catharsis, it's what Dr. Shayan ordered:)
Caradavine Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I bought season one of Ghost Whisperer and bought a ton of self-help books. Now, if I can just get rid of that deep, ragged ache, then I can do something with my purchases....
