Deerinheadlights Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 My ex broke up with me .... but said that I am awesome and that I will find someone better. Yet, she still wants to be friends and says that I am her best friend. I just don't get that sh**. I mean I have been reading all these threads about people breaking up with each other and moving on, but I don't get why people break up and say lets be good friends. Can anyone please explain this to me.

I mean I have been reading all these threads about people breaking up with each other and moving on, but I don't get why people break up and say lets be good friends. You'll be an emotional tampon and once your ex finds someone better, you'll be thrown away. As soon as my ex broke up with me, she told me I was her closest friend and she loved me...LIKE FAMILY. Getting demoted from lover to family? Not a good feeling. She already broke up with me in the worst kind of way (over the phone) Don't be friends, it's ****ing impossible. Plus do you want to be in the friend zone and hear about her new life without you? Lemme answer that for you HELL NO! Go NC and cut this person out. I wish you luck
skydiveaddict Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Username nailed it. It's simply a way to displace guilt. If she can get you to be "friends", than she can say to herself "see , we're friends, if he's still hurt that's his problem." Never except second place my friend. (friendship)
