i have complained abt two nice guys who just don't get it that i'm not interested. one of them eased off after i told him abt my date with someone else, but not for long. so i emailed him and flat out said that i'm not interested. i think it's best for him (and for me), but i feel bad ... :yeek:

i guess i'm just seeking reassurance that i did the right thing. i wd've never done it in person unless he tried to touch me, so i used email even though it's prolly a bit rude.

You did the right thing. Some guys don't take hints very well. I used to be like that.

If a nice guy asked me out, I'd just lie and say I had a boyfriend (whether or not that was true). I don't think being honest was wrong, as long as you weren't cruel in a "I wouldn't date you if you were the last guy on earth" way.

On the other hand, if the person keeps grabbing at you or harassing you after you made your noninterest clear, you can be as unpleasant as you want.

thanks for your replies :)

this was my second time doing this, and both times the response that i got can be summed up as "oh, i didn't like you as more than friends anyway, i'm happy with being friends with you" or "i don't want a relationship anyway, unless i meet somebody perfect for me". which makes me feel a bit like i was imagining things. on the other hand, who's gonna say "this sux, i really like you". comments?...

thanks,
