w.e. Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Alright, man...this has been irking me. Twice now, my STBXW has had mail from Ticketmaster sent to my house. WHY?! She doesn't live here. I've had the last one for about a week...she's asked about it a couple of times. I've just kind of blown it off because I'm curious as to 1) wtf it's for, and 2) why it's here and not at her current residence. The first time it was circus tickets for our son, herself, and 4 of her adult friends (no other children were present...) Does anyone else have some experience regarding mail? I feel like it's kind of a dick move to have concert (or whatever) tickets mailed to the person you left for another man. -__-
2sunny Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 call her and tell her thanks for the kind gift. since she mailed them to your house - they must be yours. possession is 9/10th's of the law. since you have them - and she directly sent them to you - they must be yours...
LittleTiger Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I still get mail addressed to my ex and he hasn't officially lived here for over two years. Drives me nuts sometimes. I'm still trying to make this house MY home and I don't need constant reminders. It's pure laziness on his part. He's overseas now and has never bothered to change the address on his car registration despite the fact that his car's been sitting at his parent's house for over 12 months. I get other bits and pieces too like credit card letters and loyalty card mailings. It doesn't happen often and it's not deliberate or malicious on his part, just part of his 'manyana' attitude. He's in a different country, different job, different friends, whole new life and I'm living in what used to be 'our' house, running 'our' business and looking after 'our' cats. He doesn't even think about how the residue of 'our' broken life together might still be affecting me. So yes, ex's mail is a big bugbear for me!
willowthewisp Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I would put the tickets in the garbage and tell her that's what you did with them next time she asks.
Author w.e. Posted September 12, 2010 Author Posted September 12, 2010 lol...I <3 bitter responses. I feel bitter, though. I was going to simply say "Oh wow, thanks for the tickets...can you watch our son?" but, of course...I just said "yes" -__- I guess it's never too late to give her all the junk mail and trash the good stuff. ;P
