kuma Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I can't believe that with all of the folks (that post and lurk here) that nobody plays the stock market.. Am I the only one? Tell me it ain't so... Are you a pro/day trader? I've played the stock market. I'm not a pro. Just a small investor. I picked one winner but also picked many losers. The winner was Apple computer. It was pure luck. I still hold Apple but I'm not going to buy any stocks for a while. I don't think they are cheap. What did you buy?
Author cavedweller Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 kuma, I (like you) am a small investor. I invest in the commodity market ETF's.. ie: corn oil silver pork bellies....ect, ect.....
kuma Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I invest in the commodity market ETF's.. cavedweller, do you feel comfortable investing in the commodity market? You may want to check out the article "Commodity ETFs:Toxic, deadly, evil" by Paul Farrell. (MarketWatch.com).
Enema Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 I invest, but it's a different world down here. I'm a bit of a bear and I've stuck by the basics. When times are tough, people never stop spending money on 3 things: - Food - Booze - Gambling So that's where most of my money goes, with a few smaller positions in banks / resources.
Author cavedweller Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 kuma, I have read some of those negative reports about the ETF and ETN funds and markets..(do your homework) Commodity trading has been going on since the dawn of mankind.. Right now I am buying into: cocoa natural gas crude oil
Author cavedweller Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 Enema, I hear where you are coming from.. The point is well taken..
Author cavedweller Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 Play the market. ie: Gold, Silver, Sugar, Coffee, Feeder Cattle and Corn are at a 52 week high... Tea, natural gas, cocoa and unleaded gas are down.. )
