chocolate_boy Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 This won't work for everyone, especially if this is your worst heartbreak yet, or you didn't keep any records of your past relationships, but something really helped me this week. I'm going through a heartbreak at the moment, but only over a short-term relationship. I started checking out posts from my 7 year history on this site, and another, and also decided to pull my old breakup journals out of the attic. It's remarkable the amount of details I forgot, I was reading things about past break-ups that I totally had put out of mind. The mind has a strange trick of just remembering good memories eventually, but putting myself back in my darkest moments from the past really hit home, I feel a lot better now after re-living the pain back then, knowing I came through it and that it means absolutely nothing to me today, so much so that I cannot remember half of it. I look forward to feeling the same about my current predicament in years to come.
