espec10001
So I'm an Aquarius, and a lot of the things that I've read about the traits are very true about me. It also says that my most compatible signs are Sagittarius, Aries, Libra, and Gemini. Strangely, I've found I do actually have a lot of things in common with women of these signs. Do you believe in these?

Cee
I don't believe in astrology, but it's fun to play with. I think in reading our astrological profiles, it might encourage those qualities in us. I'm a Sagittarius and tend to believe the positive things it says about my sign. As for compatibility, I don't buy it. Supposedly, I am most compatible with Aries and never in my life I've dated one. My most serious relationship was with a Virgo and we aren't supposed to be very compatible. My least compatible signs are Scorpio and Pisces. Never dated a Scorpio, but dated a Pisces and I totally hated his guts. But I don't think the stars had anything to do with it. I think it's a fun ice breaker on a date, but not something to take seriously.
Stung
I don't believe in it and would never make life decisions based on it, but it's interesting and sometimes fun to read about and play with. I have a close friend who is a practicing Wiccan/pagan priestess and she does believe and is deadly serious about it, and she casts some amazing astrological charts with a lot of time and research put into them. She uses a computer program but supplements it with studies from other books and astrological belief systems to make the most complete charts I've ever seen. She made a compatibility chart for me when I first started getting serious with my husband, I thought it was a sweet gesture and it was fun going over it. He's not supposed to be all that compatible with me based on our sun signs, but the other planets supposedly reflect deeper activity and we have more similarities there, and our Chinese astrological signs are the most compatible pairing possible. Who knows. She is planning on making out a chart for our baby for his birthday. They're pretty intricate and beautiful so I think it will be nice decor for his room.

EasyHeart
I've found that it works surprisingly well, but you need to look at peoples' full charts, not just their sun signs. Everyone I've ever met who dismisses astrology has never studied it.
prettybaby
I find the concept ridiculous, but it does seem to match lol I only read it for fun though. I'd never base a decision on it.

jamesum
Let me teach you kids a little bit of Astronomy. You see, astrology was created thousands of years ago based on the positions of the stars in the sky. Believe or not however, the Earth changes its position little by little overtime. So today, the positions of the stars in your astrology book have been outdated for thousands of years because they are no longer in the same positions if you look them up in the sky. So today, the positions of the stars in your astrology book have been outdated for thousands of years because they are no longer in the same positions if you look them up in the sky. I don't know much about astrology (I don't care much for it either), but I'm pretty sure that the position of stars and planets are updated at least yearly, which is what most full time astrologers use, so the data they work with is actually up to date. I saw this lady on tv once who had just received the latest updates and was ready to make the upcoming year's charts based on it.
Ruby Slippers
I'm kind of into astrology. It appeals to my hippie/artist/witchy streak, which runs pretty wide. I also enjoy learning how to read tarot cards, burning incense and sage, using essential oils to soothe me and improve my mood, and periodically blaring weird and awesome music through my house while I get stoned and dance my butt off. But I don't let any of these interests and diversions rule my life. They all represent different frequencies on which a person may choose to vibrate for a while. Relatively harmless fun. And much better than watching stupid TV shows or shopping for crap I don't need.

LoveLace
I am an aquarius also. I have definitely read personality traits about this sign that undoubtedly describe me. But not everything I read is right on. I have also found it extremely accurate that I get along incredibly well with Gemini's and other apparent match signs. Aside from that, I think when we read astrology we are looking for things to be accurate, therefore tricking the mind into actually finding them there. But it's always entertaining, right or wrong, and for some people it might actually give them some hope or a way to define themselves better. Beyond all that, silly to revolve your life events around such an age old myth, then again some have actually found a spiritual way of life through things like this and of course that's anyone's right.. Disillusioned
Sort of... all the Leo stuff applies to me except the attraction to gold and wanting to be a boss. My best male friends are Aries & Sagittarius. I've met a few Pisces women but their mentalities are poles apart from mine... Gemini women are OK, but when they're bad, they're VERY bad. Can't stand Cancers even though my mother was one... they have an irritating tendency to feel sorry for people who end up playing them for fools.
Ruby Slippers
Can't stand Cancers even though my mother was one... they have an irritating tendency to feel sorry for people who end up playing them for fools.Guilty as charged. But learning!! My heart bleeeeeds for the world. I can't help it. I'm a FEELER. But as I grow up, I'm figuring out I can't save the world. At least not by myself! I have a history of serious relationships with Sagittarius men. And I didn't know anything about astrology till the last one, when I noticed the pattern. Sagittarian males are the bachelors of the zodiac. Masculine, fearless leaders, but THE least likely to settle down with one woman. I'm like a moth to the flame. Again, I'm learning. But it's always entertaining, right or wrong, and for some people it might actually give them some hope or a way to define themselves better. Beyond all that, silly to revolve your life events around such an age old myth, then again some have actually found a spiritual way of life through things like this and of course that's anyone's right. Totally agree. People naturally crave some sort of mythology and symbology larger than themselves to help make sense of the vastness of reality and life. For me, the hippie/arty/witchy/fun symbology of astrology, divination, and the energies of the cosmos is a far more fun system of belief to play around with than the gory, archaic hocus pocus of raging hellfire and a guy with nails through his hands. I wandered into this herb/oils/witchcraft shop a couple of weekends ago with two friends, and the place was so freaking cool! It was a cool evening, but the lights from their shop were warm and inviting. Inside the spacious shop with wood and warmth everywhere, they had two COOL as sh*t cats curled up in their chosen spots. Magic and witchcraft books, spell-casting herbs, "enchanted" candles everywhere. That is just some fun stuff! Am I going to devote my life to learning spells and breathing my energies into various concoctions? Not likely. But I liked "doing spells" in my backyard "cauldron" when I was 5. And I can still play.
elaina
I don't really believe in it, but when I read about "my" zodiac sign, it amazed me how close my personality is to the Cancer generalized personality. Also, it seems I tend to like guys who are Leos, Scorpios, and Capricons, and fellow Cancers, but I don't know if that is just coincidence or what. i have no idea which sign is considered better, but I don't want to make decisions based on when a person was born. I want to make decisions based on the person himself and his character and what makes him unique and himself, which I don't think one's birthday alone does.

Lol, though I agree about the tendency to feel sorry for people and then getting hurt. That does seem to happen a lot. I love the Leo people i know! Many do seem a lot like the generalized personality of the Leo, and they are so adorable and easy to give attention to

Do you believe in these? Astrology is TOTAL B.S. espec10001. It is as ridiculous as believing in magic fairies living under your toilet. Why? 1) There are no REAL astrological signs in space, they are connect-the-dot patterns which were made up by ancient Babylonians. 2) The movement of celestial bodies DO NOT dictate events on earth. They really don't. 3) There's no magical electric current between - (lets say) - Mars for instance and the Earth. The solar wind blows outward from the Sun. So Mars is 'downstream', and any electromagnetic influence carried by the solar wind would be AWAY from Earth towards Mars. Not from Mars towards the earth. 4) Here are two reasons why we read into horoscopes what we WANT to read: Forer effect - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forer_effect Confirmation Bias - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation_Bias Astrology is one of the oldest parlor tricks known to mankind. Please don't make life-changing decisions based upon it. Ok?
