I'm new here but I just really need some advice from people I don't know instead of ones that I do. Basically my ex GF and I broke up almost 3 months ago. She got a new boyfriend about the same week. So we still texted a little. Like she would find excuses to contact me. Until I told her I was dating someone. Then everything changed and she got spiteful. It was like she had 2 lives, the one with me and the one at her apartment complex of which I was not a part of and where the party is. She is still a wonderful girl don't get me wrong but she hangs out with the wrong crowd and I can't stand them. Anyway I thought screw this I dont want to hear about how she's moving in with the new guy and how wonderful he is anymore so I went NC. 1 weeks ago in the morning out of the blue I get this text. "I know we said no more talking but I'm over my bitter heartbreak and I want to apologize if i ever hurt you or made you feel like I did'nt love you or was being shady. You were an amazing boyfriend and will always have a piece of my heart!" Was that an excuse??? I have'nt texted back or anything. The thing is I know I can move on I have before but I do love her so so much. I guess I'm hoping she'll get tired of the new guy she jumped into a relationship with. I've rebounded before and it was amazing at first but then ended terribly. What do you guys think? Please and thank you

Idk I'd only ask myself , how much she really loved you if she got a new boyfriend like u described , in the same week you broke up? .. That's insane man .. I would never forgive her that if I was on ur place. Really.

If she gets tired , and goes back to you, that would be like she had you on standby , the just-in-case guy. U don't wanna be that, do you?

How would she bear it if you had a new gf all the time and had fun with her and then later once when [if] you break up send her msg like she sent you.. Think she would get back with you?

Just question it all , is it worth it. Maybe you deserve better? Maybe she is the only one for you though.. In that case , you don't.

Goodluck mate..

It sounds to me like she is trying to alleviate her guilt. Personally, I wouldn't reply. If she truly cared even half as much as she says, she wouldn't have been able to move on so fast.

Yes stick to the NC. This is just a classic case of someone throwing the line out again to see if you'll bite whilst she has another fish firmly on the hook of another rod. I agree it's another 'just in case' / 'safety guy' option she wants to keep open. Don't be surprised if you receive more txt's or calls from her trying to alleviate any guilt she has. Don't become 'the other guy', but be the better guy by sticking to your guns.

Although I imagine this text tugged at your heart strings please don't let it move you farther then that. She broke-up with you for a reason and although you still have feelings for her - like the previous posters wrote you may just be the 'just-in-case' guy. Whether or not she's truly regretful, and she may be, she's not regretful enough to come back to you - or she would have found a better more meaningful way to show it instead of over a quick text message.

Do not degrade yourself or give yourself any more heartache over this woman, she may be nice, but she's not the one for you and as soon as you can let her go - you'll be able to move on and fine that one that IS right for you.

Good Luck!

I guess from what I just heard is that her new guy is'nt as great as she thought. I guess she rushed into it with him and I"m told when you do that, well I've done it too, it turns out bad or can and often times does. I guess I can't blame her for latching onto someone. She does'nt know I know this and I would never say anything about it. Should I stay NC fro now and let her come to me if she does? Or should I find a reason to reach out to her?

NC, NC, NC, NC, NC!!!!

Whatever you "heard" doesn't affect you. Keep up the NC and wait it out. If she wants to come back she will. That act of reaching out will only serve to push away, probably further toward this rebound guy, even if it is only until something better comes along. Stay cool.
