moxie60 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Is it possible to become numb to sadness. This guy I really liked just got engaged, I should have been really upset, but I wasn't. I think I forgot what sadness feels like, but I am not exceptionally happy either? Is there something wrong with me? What is this? Has anyone every felt like they should have been sad over something, but weren't?
TouchedByViolet Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Yep, it's one of those pleasant surprises in life. You don't get many of them! Now that the person is completely out of reach you can let your feelings go. This naturally puts you at peace and peace = numb.
skydiveaddict Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Yes you are lucky, I agree w/Violet. It probably means you are a normal well adjusted person who handles trauma well. I had my heart ripped to pieces a year ago and I'm still not over it. I'd trade places with you in a second
