frenchgirl Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 I went out with a male friend (I have a boyfriend). He said he wanted to treat me, which I thought was very sweet, but then I realized he must've spent almost $1,000 that night. Now I'm starting to wonder whether he wants more and how I could possibly pay him back at least my part. I can't afford it but I wouldn't want him to think I tried to take advantage of him.
FryFish Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Ok dingus, did he know you had a boyfriend? If he did you dont owe him anything. He is NOT your friend, he is a guy that wants to **** you. You should not be going on thousand dollar dates with guys that arent your boyfriend.

You don't owe him anything, especially if he knows you have a BF and he presented the evening as a friendly night out, no matter what he spent. If he wants to spend his money on unavailable women as opposed to finding himself a GF to go out with, that's his business, not your obligation.
jamesum Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Yeah, of course you just realized it after he had spent $1,000 on you. Testosterone makes men do crazy and stupid things like this.
SpanksTheMonkey Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 I'm not trying to judge you but I would have felt awkward after the 1st 20 bucks 1000 what the heck did you guys go do?
Kaplan Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 A thousand dollars! Where'd he take you? A strip club?!

SadandConfusedWA Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Honestly, I believe you are exaggerating. When a guy took me to dinner at the most expensive restaurant in the city (the one where you had to book a month in advance) - he spent about $380 for the two of us. I can't imagine what you did for $1000...seriously.
Sphere Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Testosterone makes men do crazy and stupid things like this. It's nothing to do with testosterone, it's everything to do with this Cassonova garbage written in books and magazines. He probably thought that spending $1,000 on this woman would impress her and make her want him. An AFC by all accounts. I don't even spend a fraction of that on myself, so I'm never going to spend that on a woman.

Cracker Jack Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Ok guys, a grand isn't that much, really... On a night out with someone who isn't your girlfriend, it certainly is.

Author frenchgirl Posted August 23, 2010 Author Posted August 23, 2010 Guys, I know the situation is kind of unlikely but it is what happened. We went out for dinner, then to a show, then had more to eat and drink in a fancy lounge.

Ok I think a more important question to be asking is why am I going out on dates with other men cause that was a def romantic date.. Dose he know you have a bf?

Dose he know you have a bf? Yes he does. I went out with this friend because he's very nice to me and never attempted to touch me or anything. I felt comfortable and I needed some company.
