Dating outside your race

I am an eighteen year old woman (girl, i guess <_<) who is very attracted to Asian men. Asian guys my age seem to be very into their image, and don't want to date outside their race..

I wish I knew why I'm so attracted to them! Maybe it's because I haven't had much luck with them, or I think it'd be a prize to have one on my arm.

 

Anyway, I'm not having any luck with it. Anyone here have a big thing for women/men of a particular race?

I'm white, and wouldn't mind dating a black woman or one who's Gypsy or Indian. My cousin R. (who looked like Beavis when he was a kid!), who is 6 years older than me, dated a black woman after his divorce 20 years ago, and the rest of the family (except me) were aghast when he introduced her! His sister, who is 3 years older than me, married a guy who's half Irish and half Mexican... eventually they divorced amicably because he wanted kids and she didn't. It was kind of a shame, because he was a pretty cool guy.

 

The thing you have to remember about why so many Asian men are the way you describe, is because many of them are under a lot of family pressure to be successful businessmen. They've been known for years to go to Dad or Uncle instead of to the local bank for business loans... and the man who tries and fails in business is finished as far as his family is concerned.

So did you have some kind of traumatic event in your life that makes you focus on asian men. Like do they seem nonthreatning to you?

 

My advice to any one is date who they want. Asian men often have trouble dating outside their race because there is a perception that women don't go for it.

 

I personaly like white women the best... as in most of the women I see who I think are attractive have been white. I have seen plenty of attractive women of other races though and if I had hit it off with them when I was single would have been happy to date them.

 

My personal rankings would go like this 1) white 2) hispanic (non white) 3) Indian 4) asian 5) black

 

But even though I put black low on my list of personal preferences it only takes ONE girl and if I fell in love with a black girl then she would be the greatest girl in the world to me.

 

I date a white girl but its not because I said to myself "boy I need a gf with blond hair and blue eyes" it just worked out that way that a really beautiful girl I met and we ended up hitting of great.

Well, from my experience of dating an Oriental/Asian girl and many other girls of varying ethnic backgrounds, I would say that there are almost no differences between dating an Asian or any other ethnicity.

 

The biggest obstacles are these: cultural-familial and social circles.

 

Young Asian men and women tend to have a tightly knit essence of family, and their cultures, though similar are sliiiightly different. On a personal level, however, we're mostly all the same. We all grew up watching the same shows, movies, and listening to most of the same music.

 

Socially, young Asians tend to congregate in certain areas for whatever reason. If you have Asian friends in those circles, you'll eventually be in the circle yourself. Happened to me with a girl called Jasmine many a-year ago.

Yeah---I know ... Excited for university for this reason, maybe i'll meet many more asians who are willing to date outside thei race! EVEN indians have that pressure but i never cave iin... i like what i like...

I have a preference for white girls I usually date within my race it's just what I gravitate to when I date. I'm with green though I just seem to have a type but it can be broken for the right girl.

 

My asian buddies would date white black or sebra stripped girls they don't always just want to date asian girls as a rule. Some do though. Some of my white buddies only want to date asian girls. Asian girl aren't really my thing the only asian girl I went on a date with didn't have her own opinions she just agreed with everything i said. She was traditional though and my asian buddy set me up.

Well, I have to admit I find Indian women the prettiest, but maybe I'm biased because I'm Indian. I find most races attractive, but really..Asian guys take the cake! Love their hair and style, and culture. Not into the western culture anymore. Marriage is not taken seriously and the idea of freedom is completely skewed. Not cool.

So, let me get this straight, you're living in the free western culture, but you're against the ideals pertaining to the freedoms it affords you?

 

What exactly is "completely skewed" with regard to your freedom here in Canada? I live in Toronto too- never heard anyone say their freedom is compromised- it's a fully integrated, beautiful country, and anyone would be lucky to call themselves a participating citizen in this country.

Oh, you misunderstand me. I completely love being Canadian and living in Toronto where there is such a crazy amount of acceptance in being who you are. Nothing against that stuff.

 

Romantically, though, I don't like Westernized notions of marriage and what's OK in a relationship and all that stuff. I really dislike the idea of getting married and then divorcing like half the people in my country seem to do. I really also dislike the concept of "sexual freedom" where it's fine for women and men to have sex with multiple partners and whatnot. I find it distasteful for me, so it is attractive when I see a race unique to mine that displays similiar values and traits.

I've lived in California my whole life. Both NorCal and SoCal are pretty much mixing pots for races. So I'm used to being around people of different races.

 

When it comes to girls, my only criteria is that they are attractive, clean, drug and disease free, fun and mentally stable. Race isn't a factor.

 

As a white boy, my primary interest is in white girls. Though over the years I've also had crushes on two black girls, Chinese girl, Japanese girl, and a Mexican girl.

Casual dating, eh? LOL! Yeah I know I do, they are all reserved and I am extremely outgoing/energetic. It really makes them uncomfortable! I wish it didn't, but where I work a lot of Asian guys check me out, and then avoid me after I smile or try to make conversation.

I do not have many, or ANY asian guys as friends.

I have to admit everyone I know KNOWS how much I like Asians...

And I've dated a couple, but it's never ended up that great. They either dump me because I'm too much to handle (one dumped me right away I joined a busker group for the weekend..He said it was too much. It was a bunch of girls dancing in bellydancing costumes, I asked him to come watch us and he dumped me right then and there!) or they're boring/unattractive. I don't have that many requirements for a guy, but seriously, they were bad!
