raincheck Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Hi. I'm new here I'm currently on Day 31 of NC; a bad breakup story (I was broken up with) I don't really want to tell at the moment. But, I know how it feels to have moments of weakness in NC. The past couple of days have been particularly hard for me. In my first two weeks of NC, he contacted me twice via email ("how are you?"); I didn't respond and felt a strength in that. It is now that I've heard absolutely nothing from him for the past two weeks, that I have been feeling pretty down and fighting the urge to reply to his email, ask him how he is, etc. Anyhow, this is a video I saw soon after my breakup, that really helped me-- http://www.baggagereclaim.co.uk/the-no-contact-rule/ Ignore the "buy my book!" stuff and just click on the video. Pretty awesome stuff.
BeagleGal Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I totally understand what you are going through. I've had a few relapses with NC. My ex dumped me as well and like you dont want to get into it again (you can read about it in the Other Woman/Man forum). The last I heard from him was just over a month ago when he texted and called me. Since then, nothing. On Jul 31st, he got married to the girl he left me for. So its been a really ****ty couple of weeks. I also viewed that video and go on that site regularly to read about NC, how to deal with a breakup, etc. and its helped some. But at the end of the day, I still am stuck with my thoughts and my mind racing to all thats happened the last few months. Anyways, dont respond. I'm telling you - its not worth it.
deux ex machina Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Keep doing NC. There are going to be times it will be very difficult...but it will pass. Over the long term, you will be so glad you didn't respond. Stay strong, you can do this! Welcome to LS, raincheck.
lullaby Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Great video! I haven't found that one when I search for stuff to read at the moment of the break up. It's really helpful. Do you have her book? Keep strong!
