Three months since "the breakup" and woke up this morning feeling great! I spent seven dedicated years with her, and finally I am really feeling stronger every day! :)

(Here's my story for those who don't know it. The EX-of-seven-years had and affair with an former-close-friend who was married, and if I can survive losing two people I cared for deeply, then you will survive your breakup too! Trust me, I am no superman, just an everyday guy.. like you.)

So I thought I would start a thread to give everyone the hope that it does get better.. that you WILL rediscover yourself.. and that it just takes time. You need to take the power back from "them" and invest it into you. How long that takes depends on YOU. Just realize that you existed before you met them, and once the "spell" starts to wear off, there you are again! Sure I miss "her," sure I still think about "her," but every day of NC is another day further down the path to a bright healthy future!

I know I will love again, and the next time it will be with someone who is as beautiful on the inside as she is is on the outside. I now know what I require in a woman to make me happy, and ironically it took this horrible breakup for me to gain that knowledge!

Don't wallow in self-pity, don't allow them to make you feel worthless, take the power back and eventually you will feel as I do.

Peace out. :)

What an inspiring thread :)

It goes to show that once you get caught up in a positive spin you just go from strength to strength.

For many here I think its getting out of the negativity, but this is a very hopeful thread; i'm glad you are doing so well!

Thanks Nikki & Bonpaw. It IS all about the positive spin.

Today I made the coffee just like I like it, I left the toilet seat up and didn't get **** about it, I can go out and flirt as much as my heart desires, without a worry in the world, I can make last-minute plans with my friends and stay out all night if I want, I don't have to hide a single bodily function, HA! I can shave when I want to, I can plan my future without having to consider anyone else, I can listen to my music, I can watch the movies I like, I don't have to deal with anyone's grumpy, moody personality, I can drink directly out of the milk carton, I can buy what I want at the grocery store, I can have 'buddies' come over for 'a couple of beers' and not get the krinckly brow, I can have eight hours of undisturbed sleep, I can spend my paycheck on what I want... :D

Good for you!

My husband left me for OW. I still have my moments of various emotions, but everyday it gets easier. I currently live in our house with our children and I think the same way you do...that I can do basically want I want in regards to what I cook for dinner, what I get to watch on TV and most importantly I don't have to put up with his moodiness and bull sheet no more!
