Do you peck your date on the lips when greeting them?

Not on the first date, but after several dates assuming you have already kissed? Ive been on 4 dates with this girl and we kissed on the 2nd date. But whenever I greet her initially for the date, its an air kiss (cheek to cheek). I just don't feel comfortable doing it and she probably doesn't either. Perhaps because all our dates have been 1-2 weeks apart? It kinda needs to come naturally, almost instinctively but it hasn't happened yet. So how does it happen?

Smile at her, find your balls and take a deep breath, and just do it! Women love confidence. Face your fears and take the plunge...you might suprise yourself

Air kisses are lame. Either go for the hug or go for a real kiss. I think in some instances I've kissed upon greeting fellows and some I've hugged (even when dating them longer, depending on the meeting place, etc), but yeah that sounds awkward and uncomfortable.

Not to steal the topic, but i went on a first date, hugged her, kissed her on her cheek on arrival. And at the end of the night i was hoping to get a peck on the lips but as it went she kinda looked for a side kiss, so it was a cheek kiss and a hug again...

Does this give the impression to her that i'm not interested or homosexual?

No, it gives me the impression she's not that interested and was blocking the full kiss, though, subtly. Unless you're cat-quick with these kisses, which most men aren't. Women usually know when the kiss is coming, and that's a common move to avoid it, without being obvious.

+1 she knew what was coming and for whatever reason didn't want it to happen.

Have you kissed her on dates 3 and 4 as well?

A greeting peck should be fine now.

Why would her rejecting your kiss make her think that you aren't interested or gay? You went for the kiss...

You may have some homophobia issues if you think trying to kiss girls makes you gay.

To retaliate against the girl only allowing the cheek kiss is to ask for one in return. Show her your cheek, ask for a kiss and at the last second do a quick turn and go full on. 60% of the time it works every time.

It all depends on the situation. Some women like to kiss, some hug, some just say hi. That air kiss I don't know about but it doesn't sound great. I imagine it could be kind of cute if it was done jokingly. Otherwise it seems a little off-putting.

I think you're right, it needs to come naturally. I would probably not return the air kiss on your next date and if she looks at you strange or says something about it just tell her something like, "I've been giving you air kisses all week. Tonight I want the real thing." I bet she gives you a buss.

Where did all this pseudo hugging and kissing at the beginning of early dates come from? Surely wasn't done in my parents' day. I don't do it because 1) It kills sexual tension that needs to built up some to be useful later, and 2) It violates the "Cary Grant" rule, basically stated, if Cary Grant didn't do it in a movie, don't do it on a date, Never saw CG air-kissing any of his female leads at the start of a romantic evening.

If she moves in to air kiss, slip your arm around her waist and then slide it as low as you dare. This will send the signal that you aren't exactly "good ole school chums," and since she was the one who moved in, she won't be able to complain about you patting her ass unduly.
