Im 23 and a few months ago my relationship with my very first girlfriend collapsed after a little over two years together and a year or so before hand of being friends.

Im moving on with my life and so is she. I've become so much stronger than before but I just feel I will never be able to love anyone as much as I loved her. It feels like I gave her all the love I have and now there is nothing left to share with anyone else. :(

I really thought we were going to be together forever.

I don't understand how anyone can feel like that for more than one person in a lifetime?! Am I just naive?

I felt the exact same way after my first love.

Yes, you're naive along with the other 50% plus that make up the divorce rate. Relationships are not static and in a vacuum. They evolve and grow or devolve and wither.

Grow or die.

Thanks for sharing your experiences, it helps to hear from people who have come through a similar feeling (nothing beats the internet for reminding you that no matter what you do/think/feel/experience, someone else somewhere has already done/thought/felt/experienced it before. :()

How does it feel to realise you were wrong, and that you could love again after all? I'm not completely convinced im not the exception to the rule but I expect everyone feels like that.
