Sorry, don't know if this is the right place to ask, but how do I calculate how far along I am exactly?

I thought I would have to visit a doctor for that but apparently I can do it on my own?

If you do a Google seach for "pregnancy calculator" you'll find a few. It is measured from the date of when your last period started. I used the one at American Pregnancy dot org.

You won't know for absolute certain though until you get an ultrasound and have the crown to rump measurement taken.

Sometimes the calculators will be spot on. I got my ultrasound yesterday and I am exactly as many weeks/days as I thought.

Thank you.

And when is the earliest you can get an ultrasound? Sorry, if the question is stupid, I have no idea where to start.

I got mine at 8 weeks. I believe they can do a transvaginal one earlier but most places it seems want to see you not much earlier than 8 weeks so that they can see a clear heartbeat.

I would start by calling up OBGyn places in your area and arranging for an appointment. It may take a few weeks to get one if you aren't in a high risk category.

Oh... ok. I calculated only 6 weeks 1 day. I'm gonna ring my gyn... I guess to confirm it also. But I read that home pregnancy kits rarely show false positives?

Sometimes they will show a false positive for various things but it is more rare than not. You will probably feel a lot better once you get in to see your ObGyn. I know I did!

Noelle and LB- Congratulations!!!

What great news. !!

I took a couple of home tests which showed up positive, then I had it confirmed by my GP, who then sent me for a dating scan at 8weeks. On that scan all you could see a tiny flickering dot, but I was definitely pregnant!
