Look, we can do this one of several ways. We can draw straws for the hottest ones on the other side. We can have the ladies put their name on a piece of paper and each guy draws one out at random. We could do this based on NC seniority. Those who have been in NC the longest get to choose first.

The point is everyone needs to take a deep breath and realize there is life after breakup. As a matter of fact, I can guarantee 90% of you that, within six months to a year, you will be a far better person from the experience. The other 10% need pills and therapy -- but that's all right, too!

Now, let's get this show started. Who's with me? We're going streaking!!!

This was one of your most insightful threads,to date, DB. http://www.loveshack.org/forums/t238718/

Is this a case of old habits die hard or that you can't let the old skool Bond image get away from you quite so easily?

If it's the latter, shame but it's preferable to the former. I prefer wise men to playboys, so I know who I'd rebound with on these forums, if I had the choice.. ;)

Take care.

I don't make any apologies for how I've lived my life. I've been around the world multiple times, I've had a best friend die in my arms, I've watched two family members die right in front of me. I've fallen down multiple times and I'll continue to fall down throughout my life.

Life isn't about a point where one stands and says, "hey I've made it here, now what?" Life is the journey, and certainly some of the things I've done would have my mom cringe. But you know, from all the things I've been through, suffering from a break-up was one of the hardest things I've had to go through. But in the end, two people go into a relationship and two people leave it -- it's our perceptions that take a punch.

But when a best friend dies or a family member? That's permanent -- they never come back.

Life can be brutal and beautiful. It's actually both beautifully brutal and brutally beautiful -- but to make excuses for my behaviour? No, I never will. I am what I am and I'll continue to make mistakes and fall down. It doesn't matter how many times we trip so long as we pick ourselves back up and move forward.

But in the big scheme of things -- to keep it related to this board -- a breakup is just a temporary thing. We came into this world alone and we'll leave it alone. Everything else in between is a learning experience for ourselves. We'll walk parallel to a lot of things and some not so good things but every step we take in that long walk is one step closer to figuring ourselves out.

Brilliantly put - life is a journey that will consistently test us, throw some great things in our path and put us through some horrendous times, but from each experience we learn something about life, about people, about the world, and most importantly about ourselves. Some of those lessons we may discard and some we way fine tune and use but there is always a lesson learnt.

The ultimate goal is to truly find yourself - and cherish each moment of life with the full gusto that it deserves.

I'm 30 years old and the above quote is what I've learned from my most recent breakup. I'm always too hard on myself and frequently second guess my actions. I've lived in a perpetual state of "I should have done that...but didn't"

I learned to forgive myself for making mistakes. In fact, I'm proud of my mistakes and my failures. I've changed my perspective quite a bit and it's liberating. I'm a human being...this is the best I can do.

I had no intention of striking a nerve, Monsieur Denverre. I was, simply, pointing out that you appeared to be taking one course of progression last week (and it seemed to be quite a healthy one, to me) of ending your 'rock star' adventures, and the next minute you were suggesting we all start streaking around and rebound with each other.

I get that you could have been being light-hearted. It's nice to be light-hearted, I think BUT, if that's the case, why all the red, angry ants-in-your-on-the-floor-pants?

I am confused. It is confusing, non?

P.S. Yes. That is a little scary, Hokie. I may have to leave the room..
