What would you say/text to a friend you haven't seen in a few years?

If you hadn't seen a friend for a few years, what would you say to them that wouldn't sound completely out of the blue. I would like to text a former friend but Im not sure what to say in that 1st text. Much thanks.

And I've been thinking the same thing really. I found my best friend from high school's e-mail and I REALLY want to e-mail her, but I'm too scared to and don't know what to say. She left it on a web-site made for finding people, but maybe she doesn't even want me to find her. Just other people.

Yes we used to text each other alot but it's beeen a long time. Would a girl find it odd or stalkerish to text her out of the blue?
