smk Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Seriously what is wrong with me???? I am a 26 yr old guy who is sitting here and watching sex and the city simply because my ex used to watch it religiously every tuesday night and here i am actually watching thinking maybe i can learn something from it or who knows go back to her and tell her i now understand the characters.... who knows... PS charlotte is pretty.... whats wrong with me........
archivist Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 I'm exactly the same, I'm reading Twilight, what the f**k is that all about? I'm a fully grown ass 27 year old man. But honestly, reading is helping and whilst its true my ex loved twilight its all I have to read at the moment. I've already finished the book on how to be a better boyfriend and improving myself.
Username37 Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 My Ex loves Friends and I'm watching some episodes to see if she got ideas from it haha
Author smk Posted July 20, 2010 Author Posted July 20, 2010 All I can say is ewww. i know tell me about it - yet here i am still watching the damn show....LOL... Archivist - one thing i do appreciate is that my ex wasnt really into reading - and the few times she did - she was into a lot of spiritual stuff which i used to like - yet right now if i read it all i can think of is finding the writer and beating him to a pulp - all those self help mantra's - alot easier said than done - especially when you are in our place - however i used to be a firm believer in some of them - read some of the following if you get a chance - they are good authors/book 1) Paolo Coelho - the alchemist (my fav but he has some other good stuff) 2) The Secret - Rhonda Burns 3) Taming Tigers - Jim Lawless 4) The life of PI - Yann Martell _ brilliant 5) The monk who sold his ferrari - Robin Sharma 6) Brian Weisz - he has a couple of good books...
Woggle Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 My ex used to watch that show and I haven't seen a single episode since we divorces. What an utterly unlikable group of people.

Author smk Posted July 20, 2010 Author Posted July 20, 2010 You can now endure the worst kind of torture because nothing can compare. thankfully they only show 2 episodes - howerve nothing does compare to my ex (singing in a really bad voice - nothing compares by sinnead o'connor)....
AlwaysConflicted Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 This is very interesting. I've wanted to post my own thread on this but was hestitant. Everytime I get broken up with, it's like I try to become my ex girlfriend. It's bizzare. I dated a dancer for years and when we broke up I started taking salsa and samba classes. I also started capoeira. This last girl broke up with me and was a health nut. So now I've started shopping at her specialty food stores and being obsessive about health. It's like I try to become them after the break up in an effort to feel close to them. I know I won't win them back, but it's a strange ritual I seem to carry out.

Thorgs Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 I dated a dancer for years and when we broke up I started taking salsa and samba classes. I also started capoeira. I thought you were going to say you started going to strip clubs smk, try not to bring stuff into your life that reminds you of the ex, unless you find it therapeutic. If I was to start watching TV shows my ex liked I'd have to start watching Bachelorette!

106rob Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 I'm the opposite I can't watch/listen to anything my ex did/does I turn over or skip the track
DenverBachelor Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 If I were like you I would have started sniffing coke and shooting heroin. Yeah, until every girl you meet wants to do it with you and then you realize you're surrounded by a bunch of coke heads. Dead end road with no roses at the end.
GrayClouds Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 .. PS charlotte is pretty.... whats wrong with me........ Nothing or at least until you start thinking Carrie is pretty. .
DustySaltus Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Dude, nothing is wrong with you until you start listening to this 5000 times like me at one point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AntcNSw0jTg Then you need help
mikezombie777 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 I'm the complete opposite with this type of thing - I tend to erase any trace of the person. It hurts too much at the time to be reminded of the good times, which now cease to exist.
AlwaysConflicted Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 I thought you were going to say you started going to strip clubs haha, she was a ballet dancer...not a stripper. I have some standards, not many...but some.
Author smk Posted July 21, 2010 Author Posted July 21, 2010 (edited) AC This is very interesting. I've wanted to post my own thread on this but was hestitant. Mine too was a great dancer – she once told me she would give me a lap dance – I didn’t get – boy do I wish I did… LOL…. Mine was a chocoholic – thankfully I haven’t become one – I have worked too damn hard to drop a shed load of weight in the last 7 months…. I wouldn’t say try to become like them (that would be a scary thought) but I think we try and hold onto the little memories of them – and in the case of the health food – that’s not such a bad thing – I think because we spend so much time with them – some of their habits rub off on us – some good some bad… thorgs smk, try not to bring stuff into your life that reminds you of the ex, unless you find it therapeutic. If I was to start watching TV shows my ex liked I'd have to start watching Bachelorette! MikeZombie I'm the complete opposite with this type of thing - I tend to erase any trace of the person. It hurts too much at the time to be reminded of the good times, which now cease to exist. To be honest I don’t even know why the heck I was watching – I guess I came across the channel and just ended up watching it – maybe subconsciously I was holding on to the memory of her…. 106 rob I'm the opposite I can't watch/listen to anything my ex did/does I turn over or skip the track Thankfully our taste in music was quite different – and hence there are very few songs that I come across – movies and tv shows unfortunately we shared the same taste and as much as it hurts I think its all part of the grieving process – they left us – why the hell should we stop getting on with our lives (again a lot easier said than done)… DB Yeah, until every girl you meet wants to do it with you and then you realize you're surrounded by a bunch of coke heads. Dead end road with no roses at the end. Hmmm interesting……. Could be fun while it lasted though – lol… Dusty Dude, nothing is wrong with you until you start listening to this 5000 times like me at one point: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AntcNSw0jTg Then you need help My song has been goodbye my lover – james blunt and bed of roses by bon jovi – both played on repeat – probably surpassed the 5000 mark – does that officially make me a nutter – LOL… AC she was a ballet dancer...not a stripper. I have some standards, not many...but some. What does society define as standards – surely strippers have feelings too – and look at the +side you will always get lap dances for free…lol Edited July 21, 2010 by smk
Author smk Posted July 21, 2010 Author Posted July 21, 2010 Nothing or at least until you start thinking Carrie is pretty. . Carrie isnt that bad - but i prefer brunettes - oh and Mediterranean women (think that might have something to do with my ex - she was Mediterranean)
