I recently put myself out there in the dating scene. I've been seperated for a couple of years but was not ready to date till now..

I've been asked out a few times but rejected a few. I finally went out with this man a few weeks ago. I thought it went well, we hit it off and we did kiss in the end of the night. Nothing more!

But he never asked me out again. We've been friendly in FB but that's about it, no flirting.. What's funny is that other man have been really friendly with me in FB as in compliments here and there etc. Now he's starting to do the same with other females and the girls are not even cute.. It's like a mind game I feel.

That sorta made me a little jealous so I decided to ask him out. I know, I know... He accepted but I am starting to over analyze things and I am wondering maybe he was not that into me. That why he didn't ask me out.. How common is this? I've never asked a man out. Do I look desperate? Maybe I should of gave him more of a challenge and waited. Your input is appreciated... be gentle with me. hahaha:)

I've taken the initiative with men several times. Sometimes it flies and sometimes it doesn't :-) There's only one way to find out. I know for sure that a couple of the really good experiences I've had with men, I wouldn't have had if I hadn't pursued it in the first place.

The main question I ask myself is 'what is there to loose if I get a rejection'? Quite often there isn't much to loose (ok, some initial disappointment etc). But if it's a co worker or someone you have to be confronted with regularly, that can make it potenially awkward later.

I don't think it comes across as desperate and I think most men appreciate the compliment if you do it in a nice way (but others might disagree with me here :) and depends on the individual and/or culture I guess), as long as it's not some kind of continued pursuit in the face of no interest.
