jond77 Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 I sent her an email after six weeks, saying I wanted to be friends in the future. Because I actually do honestly. She was a friend and I hope we can be friends again. I am off to get anti-depressanst and try and fix my life once and for all now. I also deleted Facebook, I think it is bad it just makes me feel that my life is terrible. She is gone, I love her but she is so gone. Wish me luck.

It sound like you making some real postive steps for yourself, you should be proud. What other things are you doing to help? Make sure your eating well and regular good health stuff; not junk, make sure you exercising at least once a day be it lifting running or even if its just 45 min walk, take a class, start a hobbie, teach yourself something you always been interested in, find someone to talk with, and hang with people who care about you. You making great steps, keep up the hard work. .
HeavenOrHell Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Like GC said keep up the good work, you're doing great Well done for deleting facebook, not an easy thing to do. I had no contact for a few weeks with my ex and we are friends now, both have new partners now. Wishing you all the best

Though it is important to understand that HOH case is an exception, most EXs being friends takes much much more then a few weeks if ever. Go NC with the intent of being forever.
nihilanth100 Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 I agree with GrayClouds. Everytime I think "Oh, I could be friends with her!" it is just me wanting her back into my life. Im 3 weeks into NC and I truly cannot handle what shes doing right now. So congrats on deleting facebook, thats a big step!
spriggig Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 There are no answers in the bottom of a bottle. You can almost certainly do this without drugs. Diet and exercise will do more for your mood than any pill can. http://www.marksdailyapple.com/diet-for-depression/ http://www.squidoo.com/i_beat_depression
HeavenOrHell Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Good point GC! Bear in mind we were together 18 years and were incredibly close. It did only take a few weeks of NC in my case, and this was 7 months after we split. BUT I did it thinking it could well be forever, that I might never feel able to be friends with him without wanting him back. I had to go NC to save my sanity basically. There came a point it was more painful to see him than to not. NC did wonders for me, noticed a change within me within days. The first 3 days were the toughest but it got easier after that. Some people will never be able to be friends with their ex's. I am lucky in this respect, also though I've made it happen, in the respect that I went NC, which enabled me to move on bit by bit which enabled me to be develop feelings for somebody else, which has made it much easier to be friends with my ex, even if he IS with an old friend of mine! Having said that; I am NOT with somebody else just so I can be friends with my ex!! That would NOT be a good idea, and I am not in the habit of using people!! Meeting someone new has happened as a consequence of going NC a few months ago, going NC moved me on massively and quickly (quickly as in I didn't go NC until 7 months post break up, but once I went NC I'd moved on hugely within a month). Thanks HOH. Though it is important to understand that HOH case is an exception, most EXs being friends takes much much more then a few weeks if ever. Go NC with the intent of being forever.
