UGH. I'm once again havng some sleep issues. I fall asleep ok.. but I either wake up too early.. or in the middle of the night all sweaty. My guess is hormones. I wish I knew what to do about this? I will not mess with any kind of HRT.. as I have read that stuff causes a host of other issues down the road. How do I get a good nights rest?

Have you looked into a ZMA supplement?

Personally, I have found melatonin to be effective. Also that Sleepytime Extra tea usually knocks me out.

Never heard of ZMA until now. Tea sometimes works for me.. but not as of the late. I normally only need about 6.5-7 hours a night. Last night I only got about 5 and I am tired today. I awoke with a hot flash.. and night sweat. Then had trouble getting back to sleep. Hate that!:(

About 50 mg of magnesium works wonders for me (although be careful with the dose--it's also a laxative if you take too much!) But it acts much like a natural sleeping pill.

Ambien is king of falling asleep...that is if you have a prescription of course!

How much do you take daily? You might try upping the dose AND taking it right before you go to sleep.

Again, be careful though. I started out taking a full 500 mg pill of magnesium for a couple of days, and on about the third day--bad things. :) I noted that I take about 50 mg above, but now that I think about it, I do take a little more. I buy 500 mg pills, and then I split the pills into roughly thirds to sixths. I take the small "sixth"-size pieces when I just need a little boost to help me sleep (about 80-85 mg) and I take the larger "thirds"-side pieces (160-165 mg) if I really need help.

Another thing you might try is red tea (rooibos or honeybush). I've recommended this to other people, but it didn't have the same effect for some of them (one person it actually kept AWAKE), but any form of red tea puts me right to sleep. It's supposed to be sleep-inducing, so I don't know what was going on with that one person whom it woke up! But I can't drink it during the day at all because I'll be napping in no time.

When person suffered by the worries, stress and in hyper tension then problem occurs for the sleep. For it solution you should do the meditation before going to the sleep. In the market there is available CD for the meditation. You can also download from the internet.
