Chibaby Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Do you think a 31 year old should still be financially dependent upon parents? I have a friend who is estranged from her dad, yet she lives in the same house as him and her mom. He pays for her graduate school ($40K/year), shopping sprees ($200-500 a week), phone bill, credit card bill, gas, car payment, room/board, and trips whenever she wants - yet they haven't spoken for 2 years. Funny thing is she just finished grad school for COUNSELING! Ummm.. yeah, work it out right? She is going to both NYC and LA in a matter of months. I think that that's their buisness I guess , but she can't understand why I'm on a budget. I'm under the opinion that 31 - unless there are illnesses/hardships involved - is way too old to be acting like this. She drives me nuts and I think she is spoiled. Just sayin'.....I'm wondering what's your opinion?
Shakz Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Well, her father probably feels as though he can gain her love by giving her everything she can imagine, which has likely been his attitude from day one, which is why she is a spoiled brat. My guess is she's not quite as "estranged" from her father as she might like you to believe. You can't be estranged from a stranger.
Green Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Yeah she sounds spoiled but really can you blame her? If I had some one willing to pay all my bills and send me on shopping sprees and vacations I too would take advantage. If you find her anoying/unrelatable why not just stop being her friend?
