BlimpChimp Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 So, we broke up on Sunday and I the idiot decide I need to talk to her today, so she comes out with this corker "no matter how bad I feel, I won't go back on the decision, it would only be worse for the both of us". What does that even mean? How could the fact we both feel awful apart be better than being together? Yes we argue and all the rest of it but so does everybody. May as well have said 'ah well, its for the best. Try not to feel too bad' Sigh. Messy. I think now it would be best to follow the forums NC rule from now on. I feel like an idiot for getting so emotionally involved with someone who seems to be able to switch off her emotions at will. What a fool I am. This one will take a while to get over.

I think she just feels the only way the both of you can be completely happy is if you both move on. Welcome to LS, though, man.

It means she moving on and do not want to look bad in the process so she trying to look like she is doing you a favor. Your right, go NC, stay NC and take care of yourself. And keep ranting they help. Good luck and sorry for your loss.
spriggig Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 She said "...for the both of us" but she really only means herself. They always want to make it seem like they're doing it for you, too, in some way. "It's not fair to you...". NC only works if you actually do the No Contact part, it's not just a name. I know you know. Good luck, it gets easier, really.
