melissa123 Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 I have a question for you. Males: If you went to see a gymnast perform and she got all nervous and fell off the beam twice a made a bit of a mess of everything else would you be put off?! I ask as the guy of my dreams came to watch a competition of mine, as yes as you may have guessed I made an absolute mess of things and fell off twice He only came to watch the beam where I made an absolute mess of it. I won overall the following day but he didn't come to watch that or even ask about it! I just haven't heard from him since and Im wondering if it would have been a massive turn off. Although I made a mess of things I still smilled and didn't storm off in a huff or anything. Sigh Why am I just one big screw up all the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bayouboi Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 If I were into you, I would probably feel sympathetic to your pain & embarrassment & offer words of comfort & encouragement. I don't think being turned on or off would have factored into the equation.
thehypemachine Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Of course not, and surely any lad who is put off from you having an accident isn't worth it!

I would laugh and tease the girl, but in a playful way. I would like the chance to be there for her and would kinda find it cute knowing that she isn't always perfect but still keeps her head up. Maybe that's weird, but that's how I think sometimes.
Diezel Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Oh yeah, god forbid anyone make a mistake in a sport. That's definitely a turn off and next-worthy. Please.

He desen't sound like the man of anyone's dreams if he didn't even ask about your competition. Any decent man would care about the woman, whether or not she does well in a competition. You seem like a good person who also wins competitions. That's very impressive. You're anything but a screw up. The one area you need to work on is choosing higher quality men and that will come over time.
Green Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Did you know that a gymnastic girl is like a dream come true for most men? It's true. He probably wished you had done good but I'm sure it wouldn't change the fact that he MOST LIKELY WANTS YOU.
Author melissa123 Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 Thanks for your replies I have been beating myself up for the last few days and everytime I think of it I actually want to cry!! I trained soooo hard and had gotten it the the point where I never fell and had everything all polished off. Come competition day when he was in the crowd I could barley stand up, fell twice and made a mess of everything else!!! Im so mad at myself. I really wanted to impress him but haven't heard from him since Must have thought I was such an embarrasement! Im sooo mad at myself for being such a screw up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Diezel Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Jesus... chill. I wonder if it was the routine that scared him away or your glaring self-esteem issues. You wanted to cry because you thought a guy no longer wanted to see you because of a failed routine??? I think you need to worry more about why you're missing the beam rather than why you're missing the mark with that guy.
Green Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Bottom line an in shape girl is probably hot. If a guy goes to watch a hot girl do her thing... CHEERLEAD for example... and then the girl sux and falls off the top of the pyramid or what ever... I don't think he'd lose interest. I understand that when a girl goest to watch a guy play basket ball or football if he completly sucked out there you might lose interest... BUT GUYS ARN'T LIKE THIS. A guy could find a volley ball player completly hot even if she lost EVERY GAME.
gamma1 Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 He only came to watch the beam where I made an absolute mess of it. I won overall the following day but he didn't come to watch that or even ask about it! You won overall. Repeat that to yourself a few times. I've watched a few of these competitions on television over the years. Most people couldn't even balance for more than a few seconds let alone do all these amazing things you must do. Everyone has bad days. You won overall, but I tell you what. The person who was last in the competation is still very good and has no reason to hang her head. I'm sure you prepare for a very long time and it's got to be hard when you have a bad day. At some point though you have to look back and realize how much you have accomplished and not what you have not accomplished. You have certainly accomplished more than most and you should be proud. Now, stop calling yourself a screw up.
Author melissa123 Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 Dont worry diezel, although I feel like crap about it I certinally don't let my major self esteem issues show as I know dam well they are a massive turn off. My entire life I have had massive self esteem issues which I really need to tackle as they really get me down but I just don't know how to! Although I wanted to cry and punch someone in the face I made sure I smiled, laughed and even made a joke out of it! And thanks green. I thought he must be interested as hes making the effort to come on his own to watch me compete. He even gave me a good luck present! But then left straight after and I haven't heard from him since, he didnt even ask how the rest of the competition went .... So confusing!!
Author melissa123 Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 Thanks gamma1 Thats really sweet of you. really helped me feel better Your right. It was a bad day and horrible timing to screw up but I have achieved alot in the long run and do need to teach myself to be proud!!
Green Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Don't forget a lot of guys are unsmooth and unable to just ASK GIRLS OUT. Heck some guys take girls out on dates and can't even build up the courage to KISS THEM. He might be a loser, or he might not be interested. Only time will tell. What I can gaurantee is that short of you taking a dump out there he would not have lost interest in you based on a sucky performance.
Author melissa123 Posted July 7, 2010 Author Posted July 7, 2010 Thanks so much green I really appreciate it! Im just guna stay away and see if anything comes of it. He's probably not interested which is ok. I would just struggle If I knew I lead to this non interest by blowing a really good chance!! Lets hope something comes of it, but im not getting my hopes up to high.
