" You're a great guy you deserve someone better than me " Have you really meant it, knowing you have issues and dont want to drag him into it ? Or have you only used it as an excuse to make a clean getaway ? other reasons for saying it ? .

I don't think i ever said they could find anyone better since usually when I don't want to date them, it's because they're have certain faults with them that are very unattractive.
EricaH329 Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 I've said it before, and I absolutely meant it. He had so much to give, and I just wasn't ready (or in a position emotionally) to take it. It wasn't fair to him that he was in a relationship with a person who wasn't able to fully give themselves to him. He was such a great guy, I just couldn't do that to him. Or anyone at the time, for that matter. He does deserve a great girl, and I honest to god hope he finds it!

I used it to help end one relationship, and it was true in my opinion but it was only part of the truth. The other part was that I really wasn't into him. Another guy I dated very briefly, that was the whole story, that he definitely deserved someone "better" than me. But I didn't even have the courage to tell him what kind of girl I was at the time and I just started ignoring him...
