When and how is the best time to ask about relocation expenses ?

During an interview the subject was brought up ( at the end of the interview ) . The answer was no.

Awaiting a Written Job Offer ( in hand ) does the future employee now have some negotiation power to bring this up again ?

The salary is a little lower than discussed .

If relocation is talked about what is reasonable to expect and what should you ask for ?

They already said no to relo expenses, so they won't pay them. It might be a policy; it's for sure a different way of accounting and if they said no, it's not something they can add to the books as an expense for that particular job.

Ask for a slightly higher salary instead - maybe $2-3k more. Or ask for $5k - maybe you'll get it, or maybe they'll give you the $2-$3k. Over time, the higher salary will more than make up for relo costs, and will be a higher base for future raises and bonuses.

I really like your idea ! :) The salary is $ 2,500 less than what we talked about. Just ask for higher salary and see what happens ...
