Rollercoasterr Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 The new Mrs. Gervais!!! Yep! We did it! We got married on June 26th and everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. If I ever see my minister out in public there's going to be a cat fight for the ages. He forgot about my wedding, almost didn't show up, asked if we could move my wedding to a time more convenient for him, forgot my sand ceremony and THEN had the nerve to be like "I feel like I left something out. I feel like you're unhappy with me" DUH! But at the end of the day we were married and that was the best feeling ever. We just got back from our honeymoon in North Carolina and I'm really not ready to be back yet. A week wasn't long enough.
Shakz Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Congrats, RC! Have you ever seen Usain Bolt run a race? He usually stumbles out of the blocks but he always finishes first. I hope your marriage sets a world's record!
Spiritofnow Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Congratulations! It could be said that; love is about wanting what you have and not always having what you want : ) I wish for you both to have a long and happy adventure together.
White Dove Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 RC, I don't know you that well because I'm quite new BUT I have been reading your past threads and oh boy, CONGRATULATIONS and I am so happy for you! It sucked what the minister did but hey, you're happily married now.
Gradschooler Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Congratulations RC! Here's wishing you a wonderful life ahead.
GorillaTheater Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Congrats Roller! So where are you going to settle? Canuckistan or Deliverance-ville?
carvidep Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 YAY!!! Congratulations Roller!! I truly admire you for all of the work and patience you and your husband(!!!) put in to get to this point.
aerogurl87 Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 CONGRATS RC!!!!! I'm so happy for you and yeah I'd had a hard time not punching my wedding minister if he did that to me. Hope you enjoyed your honeymoon in North Carolina (that's my home state ).
Citizen Erased Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Congrats! Minister is a d-bag but what's done is done I guess, you have a very happy long life ahead of you with hubby.
Author Rollercoasterr Posted July 6, 2010 Author Posted July 6, 2010 Thanks so much everyone!! It really made me angry about the minister but it was really hard for me to let anything get me down. I'm just so happy that the whole thing is over with and I don't have to deal with wedding plans anymore. ............"Sand" ceremony....? Congrats!! The sand ceremony is like the unity candle but it is done with different colored sands. I had his mom and my mom pour black and white sand in the jar to symbolize the family portion of our lives combining and then he and I poured purple and pink in the same jar to symbolize the two of us joining as one. I liked it better than the unity candle because I think it's prettier and having a candle when your wedding ceremony is outside would be extremely tricky to do.
Author Rollercoasterr Posted July 6, 2010 Author Posted July 6, 2010 CONGRATS RC!!!!! I'm so happy for you and yeah I'd had a hard time not punching my wedding minister if he did that to me. Hope you enjoyed your honeymoon in North Carolina (that's my home state ). We had such an awesome time in NC. We stayed in Bryson City in a cabin that was so seriously secluded I it took us 2 hours driving on a gravel road in the mountains to find it, LOL! We made a few trips to Asheville, and we went on the LaZoom tour on one of those. It was AMAZING!
LittleTiger Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Congratulations Mr & Mrs Gervais! I wish you both a long and happy life together.
