JinSun Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 At exactly this time last year, my boyfriend at the time, broke up with me. It was an extremely tough break up for me and took me months to get over. I would like to say I am completely over him, but I still think about him more than I will ever admit. I know he is currently in a relationship with someone as am I. On the outside - we move have moved on. Here is my dilema - he sent me a message wishing me a Happy Birthday. I have not replied and don't know if I should. I dont know what it means - if anything. After a year of nc - why would he send me a message now? Thoughts? Should I reply? Or just let it go? This has apparently opened the can of worms of feelings I have fought so hard to let go.
hopesndreams Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Don't reply. Let it go. Do not open up the lines of communication.
HeavenOrHell Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 My ex sent me a birthday card which said love from and had a kiss but he's just being friendly, we love each other as friends, we've both have new partners now. Try not to read into every little thing. At exactly this time last year, my boyfriend at the time, broke up with me. It was an extremely tough break up for me and took me months to get over. tenaciousone Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Leave it in your past. I am sure his Happy Birthday wish was just him being nice and friendly. I am sorry that you are having a hard time with this. I know when you have feelings for someone and they just don't go away how hard it can be. You even begin to think or tell yourself that because you still are having these feelings that it has meaning. "Meant to be together Meaning" It doesn't! I am stretching the boundaries of your question too here but. If you are having feelings so strong for your ex, is it fair to be involved with another? Again, good luck!
Thierro Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 Let it go. It's just him being nice. (although he should have been more considerate about your feelings). Look at what this is doing to you. Stay strong. You have already did so good. Don't give in to your weakness, don't feed that beast. Move on. Don't fool yourself. He is in a relationship, If he wanted something from you, he would break down your door.
graywolf Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 It's nothing. He knows he has a new partner and that you have a new partner. So he does this to reassure to himself that he is happy in life, and probably feels really good about it too. Hey, if your content with your life, reply and say "thanks." sometimes reestablishing a contact actually means you MOVED ON. He might be trying to shove this into your face, to show that he's moved on, and trying to be nice too... So show him that you have moved on too. I've done this myself... So i kinda know...
