Anybody else experience this?

My EX of 7 years is cheating with a MM... who's wife is pregnant! I caught them red-handed making out on our deck one night at 3:30am after a dinner party.)

Anyhow I moved out since EX and I were renting a home at this time, I have nothing to loose financially by walking. So I did. Adios. I'm sooooooo gone you two sickos!

[END BACKGROUND]

So here's the rub. MM with pregnant wife are neighbours, and they, as well as other couples/neighbours, are part of our social group. Therefore we all socialized often... camping, dinners, movies, BBQs, etc.

But now, since I am not there anymore, MM and my EX have worked their cover story that "it never happened," and I have "issues with jealousy," and that "I freaked out." (Even though they are still at it.)

Since it's been a month I hear now through the grapevine that these two have been pretty successful turning people I once considered friends into people who think "nothing happened" and "I freaked out." (FYI pregnant wife is siding with her lovely husband.)

So now the faithful partner - me - is the bad guy! (Ya, I hear what you a are thinking... with friends like that who needs enemies!)

Anyhow my question is has anyone else been down this road? Where people you thought were friends now side with the people who are having the affair?

I have. The hard part is to not care. Defending yourself doesn't work. Nothing really works. You need to know better. What the world thinks the world thinks. If people are whispering behind your back, it says something about them, not you. People will always talk and gossip. It's their own problem and their own lack of knowledge and understanding.

I feel sorry for the people that gossip; always hearing one side of the story.
