LongRecovery Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 I am meeting a former classmate after we have not seen each other for 23 years. She is gorgeous and very smart. We are both 44. We had nice email interchange. I am planning coffee and nice dinner. I am kind of interested in her, and thinking about cool things to do on the first date after so long. Any ideas to surprise a woman in a situation like this one???
guy.lepage Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 At this point, I would keep it simple. Having dinner is already a huge step. If your first activity seems too "planned", she'll probably freak out. Have dinner with her and see if the conversation is good. If both of you feel good about the dinner (and you will know clearly whether that is the case), perhaps go for a few rounds of drinks and see how it goes.

If your first activity seems too "planned", she'll probably freak out. I have chosen a nice restaurant, but this is all the planning. Talking about a huge step, I offerred through e-mail to go together on a short vacation and she agreed, but then did not say much about it and I did not ask. So, I will just take it easy in the whole situation. Have dinner with her and see if the conversation is good. If both of you feel good about the dinner (and you will know clearly whether that is the case), perhaps go for a few rounds of drinks and see how it goes. This is what I am planning: if it goes well go to a bar.
