I hear about how some women (not sure if MEN do this) they admit in their profile if they're pet doesn't like you (usually dogs) they won't like you.

Even saw THIS

Posted on a profile....does one have to be this dense to think their animal is a good judge of dating potential? LOL It's definately not an accurate representation of judging your dates, right?

While I don't think animals are necessarily the best judgers of character, the way a man behaves around and treats animals is certainly a testament to his character.

Would I dump a man if my cat ran away when he came over? Of course not. Would I dump a man who expressed hatred toward and/or mistreated animals? Absolutely.

As an animal rescue volunteer animals are a huge part of my life (especially cats & dogs) so that's a necessary area of compatibility for me.

My mothers dog tried to kill my father while they were dating. The dog went and tried to push my father off the cliff. And it wasn't an accident. Then she tried to act all innocent.

I think its a valid discalimer. Absolutely.

A pet owner / lover and a non pet person might have a time dating let alone something more. The pet hair alone is an issue.

Or someone who enjoyed taking their dog on outings like the park, beach, camping etc might have some conflict say, if their new date was afraid of dogs or worse.

I mean, if a guy had a dog that just didnt like me I wouldnt want to date him. "Hey, I'm coming over..is the dog locked up?"

Having pets is a major part of someone's life, along with thier job, kids, hobbies, eating habits. All of those things count and one should be pleased when someone is up front about the facts.
