I'm sure I already know the answer but I will ask anyway

So I reconnected with a guy I had met a couple of years ago. We ran into each other, exchanged numbers again and a couple of days after doing so, he invited me and a friend to a bar-b-que. My friend and I ended up staying there all day and night until the next morning. Nothing happened except for some kissing. The next day, we hugged goodbye and I got a text from him when I got home.

 

A few days later I decided to ask him out (something I never do). He declined for work-related reasons. That was a week ago and I haven't heard from him at all! Do I hang this one up or try contacting him again?

He declined for work-related reasons? Is he patching the hole in the Gulf or maybe a Midight Cowboy? Sounds kinda blow-offish to me. Sorry. Like Sad in Texas said, it's in his court. Maybe he's just slow to the switch. Give it up after another week or two.
