I have always heard (and observed) that couples fight a lot when renovating the house because it's such a high stress situation. So I've been worried that the BF and I would fight or be frustrated with each other the whole time, but it's all gone so smoothly. We were snappy with each other for about 15 minutes last weekend until we both stopped and pointed out we were taking out house frustration on each other. So instead we just talked about how frustrating it all was and what was bothering us about the house. We have to rip out the subfloor next due to the cat pee.... (and probably some duct work too....Ugh.) That may cause some friction as I can't possibly understand how anyone could let cats destroy a house so much. I'm trying to be sensitive about all the changes with the cats but DANG....ripping up an entire house of sub floor? We had a talk yesterday about why and how his house came to the state it is and why the kitties act the way they do. My only conclusion with the cats is that two of them were feral cats turned house cats, which just seems like the worst idea in the world to me and the other cats followed their behavior. So cat people of LS...the kitties are now outside all the time. I've never had cats due to allergies, but how can we be good pet owners to outside cats? We bought them a igloo cat house and put a big cat pillow bed thing in there, but all they did was go in there and pee on it. Cats baffle me.
