allconfuzzled Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 The furtherst a female has gone for me is showing up at a restaurant so she can get a free dinner. There was a guy I was in love with once, and I did everything for him, but later on I found out he was using me and saying stuff about me behind my back. He was my best friend for 3 years. We had the same classes and spent a lot of time studying together (this was when I was still in college). He would always call me to hang out and there probably wasn't a day that we didn't spend together. He had a lot of problems (alcohol abuse and self-esteem issues) so I always tried to be supportive and be a good friend to him. We had spent so much time together I thought we were in love, especially since my friends would tell us that we acted like a married couple, and he would always talk about having kids and a family with me. Behind my back he told all my friends that I was his "sugar momma" and that I was sleeping with him, which neither was the case. When I confronted him about it he started crying and got on his hands and knees begging me to forgive him and stay his friend. I turned my back away and haven't talked to him since. Having him in my life taught me to be more cautious with how much I put into a relationship and friendship, and sometimes people can never change no matter how much you care for them. There's more involved but this is the basic jist. My point being to all of this is no matter what sex you are (male or female) if there is someone you really care for, you will do anything for that person. Just make sure that whatever you put in that the other person is giving the same amount back. That's how I feel about it anyways.
