Anyone here in a long term relationship without ever hearing I love you, or having heard it only to have it taken back while you were still together, and being told it was never true?

Well i was dating someone who said he loved me and after we met and stuff he took it back. I guess i wasnt what he thought and that was after months of telling me he loved me before we met in person. It hurts so bad to have this happen when my feelings were and are sincere.

Yeah, my ex who just dumped me after over a year and a half together never told me he loved me. We were in a LDR, but that makes no difference really, because we really did see each other a fair bit (we spent every day together living and working together for 4 months - so we prolly got more relationship time than most couples who don't live together).

When we first met, he told me that he thought to himself 'am I in the early stages of love?' I told him it was too early to tell, and that he should wait for such serious words. That was about 2 weeks after we met.

For the rest of the relationship, I never heard those words. I never said them to him either, because with me, a man HAS to say them first.

Ironically enough, he left me for some other chick - who tells him that she loves him all the time. TBH, I think she's acting like a pathetic schoolgirl. But, him being equally pathetic, I'm sure that his immature idea of love is plastered all over her.

Meh *shrug*

I'm holding out for the real thing!
