Any other guys find themselves around the six month mark realizing that their ex wasn't all that and that you could do much better? In fact, would any of you just tell them to go pound rocks if they came around?

I'm amazed from the long wild ride, but in retrospect I can say I'm glad it all happened. My life is much better now.

Isn't that weird?

Its called time, you get your head cleared out and start thinking more rationaly.

My last one of 8 months, been apart 2+ months and I have already realized she isn't what I want. A month ago I was tore up over it, after seeing her a week ago to get some things I was like WOW why the hell do I want that. Myself I would rather heal myself and feel good about myself and find someone new and start fresh then go into something thats all jacked up and will always be jacked up.

Depends on the girl. And the circumstances. Some of us had fabulous girls that we screwed things up with. There is no..."I'm better off without them" in our cases. For us it's..."man...i really screwed that up and really wish i had a shot to make it to up. I got my wake up call, I needed it."

Sadly, most of us wont get it. For those of you with damaged partners and/or dysfunctional relationships, i imagine you'll eventually get to that point. For those of us with great gf's, we're going to carry a lot of guilt, regret, and what ifs's around for a long long time.

So true. Sometimes we just make bad choices and there's no going back.

It isnt weird so much as it is fortunate. For those of us who were on the short end of the stick, this point may never come if ever.
