Okay so I've known this female co-worker for 4 years now. I'm recently divorced and she is single. Always found her to be a fun person to hang out with in the mix with other co-workers after work.

Among our co-worker after work group, we were the last 2 remaining at a bar the other night. Some good music came on and we proceeded to the dance floor. We were buzzed off alcohol but nowhere near sloppy drunk. There was some touching, bumping and grinding. She was smiling every time we got close and we almost kissed many times. Definite chemistry on the dance floor. Just as I pulled her close to kiss her, she stopped me and said it wouldn't be a good idea because we were co-workers. Since then, everything has been cool and no apparent awkwardness at work.

Neither of us are in upper management and we are in different departments, so it wouldn't be forbidden for us to date.

We will be meeting up after work next week to go for a coffee. So my question is, how do I bring up the idea of being more than platonic after she stopped us from kissing? Do I just have to wait and see if her vibe changes when I see her in future outings and wait for her to bring it up?

I appreciate any tips or advice. Thanks!

I'm sure you've heard the oft repeated "don't **** where you eat".
