TwilightSky Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Today, I was in the breakroom at work, and a girl walked in, and after a few seconds walked out. This older dude that works with us (looks like he is fifty or so), said "what did you do, scare her away or something?, she just looked at you then walked out." What a self-confidence builder Anyway, is there a chance he misinterpreted the meaning behind her actions? I was just sitting in a chair, for god's sake!
Ronni_W Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 She probably didn't even notice either of you; was probably deep in thought about her own life; thinking about her great date over the weekend; remembered she wanted to do something at her desk or elsewhere in the building; realized she had to go pee. If she did look your way, it was probably "right through you", as the saying goes. I doubt she even knew you (and he) were there. In any case, sounds like time to lighten up! The old geezer was just kidding around. He wouldn't seriously make some girl's actions out to be about you, and neither should you do that. What on earth would possess you to take a comment like that seriously, for God's sake?
Author TwilightSky Posted June 15, 2010 Author Posted June 15, 2010 I don't know, some people are different in how they mean things. He singled me out for a reason, whatever that may be.
Ronni_W Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 He singled me out for a reason, whatever that may be. Maybe cos, to him, you looked "nice and normal" enough to not take his comment seriously or personally? Now...do not prove him wrong in his assessment! You can also use your own cognitive skills: Do you really believe you have 'power' to scare people out of a room? Do you think it's even a possibility that the women in question gives a crap about you, or how you may have looked at her, or what is your opinion of her? Unless. Do you want it to be that she's interested in you, and got all shy and flustered at the mere sight of and glance from you?
Krytie TV Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 She probably had no idea either of you were there, as she probably thinks of more things in a day than you two, and he made a joke. Sounds about right to me. Can't that be all it is?
Author TwilightSky Posted June 15, 2010 Author Posted June 15, 2010 I'm hoping that is all there is to it. And no, I don't want her to be interested in me. Anyway, appreciate the responses.
