Funny thing is, I never (not ever, not once) see or have seen a female 'friend' amongst the 'crew'. They've always been off doing things with 'hubby' or 'boyfriend' or 'girlfriends' or claim the ignorance defense. Interesting how that ignorance disappears when they want something and know carhill isn't 'ignorant'. What does it feel like to want? ;)

I'd be interested to hear from the OP, since her male 'friends' in the military are likely very similar to my circle of male friends (we're all blue collar with some ex-Vietnam vets in the mix), how she integrates into their 'goings on'.

Exception: I did have one instance of a female 'friend' helping me, and that was the one in my journals, when she was trying to irritate her BF by helping me move some stuff and using his equipment to do it. I wanted to pay for the use but she refused. I could tell, in retrospect, that it was situational because, after, she reverted to Hoover behavior. Evidently, her strategy worked and they've now bought a house together. Success :)
