Jerry18 Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Hi, I'm in college and I've never been to bars before. I don't like to drink and hate the bar atmosphere. I've tried getting girls by joining student organizations but they're too hard. You'll only meet a few dozen girls at a time and all the hot ones are taken. So I want to try to get girls from going to bars now. 1. Do I have to drink? 2. What's the best time to go? (9PM, 12AM?) 3. What should I wear?

You're only setting yourself up for failure if you approach going to bars with the sole purpose of meeting or hooking up with women. If you can't have fun at bars with your friends, then DON'T GO TO BARS...especially to pick up women...insta-FAIL...

Yes you have to drink. 1) Learn to drink hard liquor BEFORE beer. Once you master whiskey, vodka, tequila and so forth, beers will be a piece of cake. Plus, you need a LOT of beer to get proper buzzed, while a single whiskey/vodka on the rocks (with ice) will be good for the whole night. Start learning with vodka on the rocks. Vodka tastes smoother (less sweet, sour or bitter than other drinks) and the ice will soften/dilute it as it melts through the night, whereas a beer will lose all it's fiz and get warm quickly. Don't mix drinks (don't drink a beer after a martini or a wine after a tequilla; you WILL puke your brains out) 2) A lot of people say you should come later because the girls will have already had a few drinks and be "looser," but I noticed that that most of the girls are taken (either by guys or coalesced into hard-points of their girlfriends by 11:00 to midnight), and while some girls may be more open to guy with some alcohol in them, a lot of them become more hostile and bitchy. Better to come early and leave before the competition gets to fierce. 3) Dress upscale/casual; a step above the rest; fitted dress pants, leather shoes, a pressed collared shirt that you can dress up or down (tucked or untucked, sleeves rolled up or down, a tie or the top 2 buttons undone)

I can drink, but why would I? It's pretty expensive and it'll only decrease my cognitive abilities. 2. Good point. I'll try 10PM for now. If there are too few girls then I'll try 9:30PM. 3. Are jeans any good?
Woggle Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Just be casual and act like it is no big deal if they say no.

For some reason, in bars, drinking is associated with machismo. Anyway, the best way to pick up girls from a bar or club is to go there with some female friends and not with a bunch of your fraternity brothers. I noticed that in such environments girls are attracted to men who are already in the company of females. A wolf pack of testosterone laden college boys just smells of desperation and women hate desperate guys.
D-Lish Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Dress casual, don't go before 11pm, jeans should be your only option unless you live in Florida.
JustJoe Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Dude, this time of year, jeans and a tee or baggies are all you want to wear. Never go before 10:00 or 11:00, and always go to bars where your friends go, so you will have someone to talk to and party with, while you look around to spot Miss Right or Miss Right-now, depending on what you want.

I'll just get one glass of beer to get the smell and something to hold on to.
sigurpol Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Tons of my friends are "drug free" and go out with me when we plan an evening. Not in the same vein as you, since you dislike the bar scene. So far. But, we all go as friends, so it's a good time. They usually meet a lot more people than I do. Just be secure. Make sure you go with a group of your friends.
