Shakz Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 For me it isn't just the Bible. The written word is a guide for my life choices(even when I don't do what I am supposed to do:o), but the relationship I have with the Lord is from my heart. The relationship that I desire is one of constant communion. I want to hear what the Lord says when I ask. I want to hear the direction he wants me to go. That's not to say I don't have a choice, I do, we all do. I have denied the talents that I received for so long, did what I wanted to do, what suited me. It didn't work out too well for me:sick:. Not only was it leading to my personal destruction, but the destruction of those I love because they were looking at me as an example. By being selfish in not developing my talents and gifts, I deprived others of the things that I could do to help make their lives better in some way. That includes non believers as well. But for me to continue on this path, I have to be with someone who understands and is willing to travel that with me....completely committed and convicted. I am not just talking about love, I receive and give that from those who don't feel the way that I do. But I want a covenant relationship. One where my partner and I hold on to God with all our might. I have come to like you Broken, because you know who you are and what you want. I can't help but believe your faith has molded you so. I think that when the time is right, and you are ready, the Lord will send you a partner who will not only satisfy your needs but take you to a higher level of communion, because yours will be a covenant forged in love.
Tayla Posted June 20, 2010 Posted June 20, 2010 Somehow the poster is not being addressed as was the original intent of this thread. I digressed and owe the poster an apology. May he be given compassion for his past concern.
pureinheart Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 I often find it intriguing that the originating poster only asked opinions of the christian faith...that there deems that any other faith is not of use. Faith is faith, no matter the background of God or deity. As a spiritual being I do not exclude one at the expense of another. I agree with the few who talked of the Hardcore thumpers or deeply rooted without true roots to acceptance. Once a mind is open its rare to let it close...I find the good in different practices.... As to dating/marrying someone of a different *religion* yeah gotta say, thats a tough one . Dated a man of old testament faith and he honestly said " you are a gentile and while you are a WHOLE lotta fun! I must marry within my faith" Like I was an inferior spiritual being....TO this day when I meet people of this faith they still exude that air of snobbery and have no qualms in putting you in your place...so I just smile ...and validate once again...you cant open a rusty door! (or mind for that matter) Hi Tayla, I have seen many posts over the years from all different faiths directed at the specific faith. Due to different faiths having different belief systems it's just easier. I don't believe it's meant to exclude...to me it's actually no different than asking "men" or "women" particular questions. Being specific, or having preferences is not being close minded. I really believe when people are of the same mind and carry simular beliefs there is a comradery...it's like meeting someone and having the feeling of knowing them all of your life...having much in common...we won't have this with everyone and that is ok:)

It makes much sense now when reviewing it in its entirety. Sometimes it takes another view to get a clue. My clue has been received.
